Who We Are
Dongo Kundu Energy Ltd (DKE) is a Kenyan clean-energy developer establishing the country’s first commercial-scale green hydrogen production facility. By combining dedicated solar generation with Enapter’s advanced AEM electrolysis technology, DKE will produce zero-carbon hydrogen for industrial customers while capturing the oxygen co-product as medical-grade oxygen that supports Kenya’s healthcare sector.
Located within the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone (DKSEZ), Mombasa, the project is designed to anchor a new regional hydrogen value chain—supporting cleaner manufacturing, reducing dependence on imported fuels, strengthening energy security, and creating a scalable model for green hydrogen deployment across East Africa.

The Clean Energy Transition
Electrification alone cannot decarbonise every sector. Heavy industry, high-temperature manufacturing processes, and long-haul transport require a clean energy carrier that can deliver reliable, large-scale energy where direct electrification is not practical.
Green hydrogen provides that solution.
For Industry
A reliable, locally-produced clean fuel and industrial feedstock.
For the Nation
Reduced dependence on imported fossil fuels and improved energy security.
For Healthcare
A dependable supply of medical-grade oxygen for hospitals and healthcare facilities.
Our Vision
To be East Africa’s leading green hydrogen and clean energy company — supplying industry, transport and healthcare with zero-carbon fuels and medical gases produced entirely from renewable energy.
Located at the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone in Mombasa County, our facility benefits from Kenya’s exceptional solar irradiance, coastal seawater access, and the SEZ’s competitive fiscal framework.
